Rustic Plank walls bring character and beauty to your home in a way that’s never been possible. Bring the rustic-chic look that is so popular today to your home in a simple and smart way. This DIY project is great for the beginner to the expert DIYer and can be done in minutes.

Materials List

  • Tape Measure
  • Pencil
  • Electric or Hand Saw
  • Hardwood, Laminate, or Vinyl Flooring Planks

Step 1: Preparing Your Project

Measure and multiply the width and height of your wall to find your square footage required. Make sure the wall is clean and dry. Apply Adhesive Tile Mat to walls. Start at the lower corner and continue up the wall moving toward opposite corner.

Tips:

The double-sided mat is easy to put up, take down, and transport to other rooms without sacrificing your security deposit or drywall. Perfect for renters, military families or someone just looking for an easy project.

Step 2: Applying The Plank

Apply first flooring plank at the bottom of the wall.

Tip: Use this plank as your guide for this project.

Press each plank applying steady pressure for 5-10 seconds and then give it a slight tug to ensure it is in place. Continue with the remaining planks until the wall is complete.

Tip: There will be open areas where the wood does not come together evenly because of different lengths.

Filling The Gaps

Measure the gaps left after placing initial planks with a tape measure and pencil. Cut planks to the correct length with an electric or hand saw and place planks into gaps.

Tip: It is easier to place shorter pieces on the outside of the wall towards the corner so you can slide them in versus placing them between two boards in the middle.

Conclusion

Not only can you transform your plain walls into beautiful focal points, but feature walls can also be used in a variety of locations and rooms around the house. For more information or help planning your project, visit Home Outlet to speak with one of our experienced store Partners.
